Upcoming in Scrapbook Creations....

Hello!!

I have been looking through some photos and thought i would share a few sneak peeks of some upcoming work i have done for Ngaire Bartlams Scrapbook Creations Top 10. 

Now i can't tell you any details, but i can say this one will be in Scrapbook Creations Issue 65.

 

And these 2 will be in Scrapbook Creations Issue 69...

  

  

My first ever time published in Scrapbook Creations so i am a wee bit excited :0)))

I had a delightful class this morning in at Paper Possibilities, with some lovely regulars; some visiting crafters from Brisbane and i caught up with a lady that did one of my classes years ago, when i started teaching at Platypus Creek Stamping and Papercraft. We made this set for mothers day

  

And i just can't resist adding here (cause i know she stops by here for a visit)- I hope the 2 very responsible adult ladies that were late to class this morning, for reasons i can't disclose, lol!!, managed to make it home without having to stop and fertilise a tree this time, thank goodness young Max was there to be the responsible driver!! Sleep well girls ;0)

Inkurable Stampers Challenge

Hello!!

Well finally i have participated in an Inkurable Stampers Challenge!!  My friend Gina from Gingerbread told me about Inkurable stampers some time ago, and while i often go and have a look i have never participated.

But this time i did!

The challenge is to get out the alphabet stamps from your stash and use them. I am in the process of altering a book to put my cards in that i have had published so i used this challenge to get me moving on doing the title page. Now i just have to work up enough courage to pull apart the book and repurpose it (an old encyclopedia Britanicca)

Its also "bring a friend month" so a quick email to Gina and she happily agreed to be my friend and me hers, lol!! phew!! ;0)

Anyway this is my take on the challenge

 

I used my Making Memories Foam Stamps and my Stampin Up Rough Edges Alphabet stamps.

   

 

I gotta tell ya, it didn't look like this in the beginning, lol!!

Paint works wonders for covering things up ;0)

Anyway i was happy with the end result and finally i am starting on a project i have been thinking about for a while!!

I HAVE ZONED WAY OUT OF BLOG LAND FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS

The only reason....

Simply not enough hours in the day!!

The biggest change here at the Hanigan household is that Jesse, number 2 son has entered the big wide working world as of last Monday!!

 

He has secured an apprenticeship as a Baker/Pastry chef at our local bakery.

And being the family photographer that i am, ;0) i was compelled to have an authentic photo on his first day of work, even if it was 3.30 am in the morning!!!

(hubby thinks i'm insane!!! "Can't you just get him to dress up in his checky pants when he gets home and take a photo?") absolutely NOT!!! It just wouldn't be the same, now would it;0)

So no longer a year 11 student, now a baker/pastry chef in training, starts at 4.00am every morning and finishes at 12 noon for 3 days and 11am for the other 2. That means the rest of the time on the golf course!! Absolute heaven for him!!

And on the 3rd day he felt the need to show his skills in the kitchen, so he made sausage rolls for the kids when they came home from school. Discusted that he had to use bought puff pastry and not made from scratch!!

Blogging from the beach

We have come to the caravan for the weekend as i had a class to teach at Jamiks yesterday so its a little closer to drive from here, breaks up the trip.

So i am shooting shadows from the beach this morning.

Sitting drinking my coffee and reading my new book i told you about here I noticed this first shadow....

  

then Chris riding his ripstick.....

  

and then this fellow thought he would wander through and pose....

  

and another one with baby in tow......

 

and another different adult and baby, that was very distressing to see, the adult has hurt its leg and can barely hobble along with the pain it is causing to it....

 

His left foot is very swollen...

 

But he is still a very handsome cassowary.....

 

These guys wander through our little bit of paradise all the time, but their stunning colours never cease to amaze me and i have hundreds of photos, i just don't get sick of looking at them. More info on Australian Cassowaries can be found HERE . 

mmmm well i may have gone off my shadow shooting track a little, but there you go, i've had fun, all from the comfort of my chair and unfolding in front of me, lol!! Lazy shadow shooter ;0).

I can't stop rubbing my hands over this......

i have been eyeing it off for quite a few months now, and, well Joyce over at Paper Forest Designs is having a sale on some things and this just happened to be one of them. 

Lucky me!!

Ordered Friday, arrived to the door Monday, all the way from WA to Cairns.

A sleeping pooch in the shadows.....

 

but do not be fooled by this butter wouldn't melt in his mouth boy!!

  

What is that you may ask?? Well they would be items that this dog chewed to pieces. I might add i remember distinctly, commenting on this blog when we got him, that he never, never, chewed, just gathered.

Well!!!

 How wrong could i have been. this is just a wee small sample of the damage he has done with his teeth over the last 7 months or so, not to mention the unbelievable talent he has digging holes as well.  Yesterday Jesse made the mistake of leaving his golf bag on the ground, Chase helped himself to his favourite ball (his mate bought back from America for him) that would be the chewed up pink thing, numerous tees and that sorry looking brown frame was a pair of sunglasses, oh and that is a school shirt that has the collar and the tab chewed off it. 

LUCKY we love him, LOTS is all i can say!!

well that was last night, tonight you couldn't see the mountains!!

All you could see was rain from the cyclone up off the coast.

Cyclone Hamish, who is set to dump more rain on its way down the coast, and hopefully that is all.

Been having a good play with paper today......

and yes an idea is starting to form with what i can do with them;0)
